Licensing Information & Applications


PT / PTA Examination Candidates

are those who attended an accredited physical therapy program and have not taken and passed the National Physical Therapy Examination.

PT / PTA Endorsement Candidates

are those who attended an accredited physical therapy program and have taken and passed the National Physical Therapy Examination and have obtained a license in a US jurisdiction. This includes a candidate who is already scheduled to test or has recently tested and is awaiting licensure.

Foreign Educated Physical Therapist Examination Candidates

are those who attended a non-accredited program who have not taken and passed the National Physical Therapy Examination. Foreign Educated PTs are not eligible for PTA licensure.

Foreign Educated Physical Therapist Endorsement Candidates

are those who attended a non-accredited program who have taken and passed National Physical Therapy Examination and have obtained a license in a US jurisdiction. This includes a candidate who is already scheduled to test or has recently tested and is awaiting licensure. Foreign Educated PTs are not eligible for PTA licensure.

Military / Military Spouse PT / PTA Endorsement Candidates

are those who are licensed in another jurisdiction, having attended an accredited physical therapy program, and who are active military, spouse of active military, veteran, spouse of veteran or surviving spouse of veteran.
